What a wonderful life Pat led. This is a great loss to his family and to Hampton. I saw him many times over the years while visiting my family in Hampton. Heartfelt sympathy and love for his family and many dear friends.

I have not seen Pat since 1969 but remember him very well. I met him at Thorpe in the 9th grade. I was one of a few African-Americans who choose to go through Hampton's Freedom of Choice". He went out of his way to befriend me and many others. This sense of humanity was shown at Hampton High also. I remember a great human being!!

Thinking of Pat today. We loved his warm smile, compassion for others, his love for his family and friends. Pat was also a leader. He lead his team to the state championship in 1969. Through all the trials and tribulations Pat faced he did so with a great sense of humor and grace. We are all blessed to have known him. Let's all try to smile when we think of Pat. That is what he would expect. I thank God for making Pat a part of my life.
