The EMS and Hampton Roads communities lost a shining star way too soon. Jim was a great administrator, humanitarian and dedicated public servant. You will be missed! Rest in peace my friend. Ruddy

JIM WAS ALWAYS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE AND A GREAT PROMOTER OF EMS. HE ENCOURAGED ME TO FINISH MY ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT EDUCATION OVER 10 YEARS AGO AND I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I DID EXACTLY THAT. HE TOLD ME THAT THE GREATEST FEELING IN THIS WORLD WAS KNOWING YOU HELPED SAVED SOMEONE'S LIFE. I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY AND I KNOW WE ALL SHARE THE LOSS OF THIS GREAT MAN TOO.

Jim being interviewed by FireRescueTV

I had the pleasure of helping Jim last year with some video taping. Great guy. He will be missed.

His smiling face and the friendship that he shared. Remember him when his first office was on the EVMS South Campus and the expansion that has taken place under his leadership. His enjoyment of MRE's on DMAT deployments. Ira & Paula Swartz

I have known Jim since he interviewed me for the TEMS Critical Incident Stress Management Team approximately 20 years ago. He was always kind, considerate, professional and supportive. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
