Charles was born on May 2, 1933 and passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Charles was a resident of Poquoson, Virginia at the time of passing.

Gene served in the Navy aboard the USS Midway, was a graduate of NACA Apprentice School, and retired from NASA, Rick Aviation, and Barr's Tax Service which he owned and operated.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 1:00-2:30 PM, immediately followed by his funeral service at 2:30 PM led by Rev. Patricia Riggs, all at Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery, Poquoson, with military honors.

At other times the family will be at the family home, 266 Little Florida Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 2099, and/or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1294 Poquoson Ave., both in Poquoson, VA, 23662.
