Clara T. Cash, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, since 2002, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017. Born July 15, 1917, she was 100 years old.

Clara Cash was the seventh daughter, the ninth and sole surviving child of William Anthony Turner and Clara Cox Turner. She graduated from Wilberforce University in 1940 with a BA degree in Home Economics. Her principal career position was teaching Home Economics to youth who were wards of the Cincinnati court system - a job she found very fulfilling.

She and her late husband, James M. Cash, enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in church choirs wherever they lived and worshipped, and visiting with their children and grandchildren. In her later years, she was active in the Lydia Dorcas Sewing Circle and the Senior Champions Program at New Zion Baptist Church. She was a life member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

She is survived by her son, Rodney J. Cash; daughter, Gail E. Cash; daughters-in-law, Emily J. Cash and Edna E. Cash; granddaughters Dione J. Cash, Danielle J. Cash and Nicole N. Saks (husband Brian Saks); great granddaughter Lilah Q. Saks; numerous nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Individuals and organizations wishing to make a tangible remembrance are asked to consider a donation to the Senior Champions Program at New Zion Baptist Church or Wilberforce University.

A service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at New Zion Baptist Church, 3991 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, VA, with a visitation prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM. A short service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cedars of Lebanon Chapel, Cincinnati, OH on Tues., Nov. 14, at 10:30am.
