Doris Zirk Hull, 92, of Spring Arbor, Williamsburg, formerly of Summit Square, Waynesboro and Fishersville passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017.
Born August 20, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Nellie Custer Zirk.
In 1944 she was united in marriage with her childhood sweetheart, Homer Hull, of which they shared a devoted marriage of 70 years.
She was a long time active member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church and a member of the Augusta County Cosmopolitan Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; three brothers, Turner, Roy and Kingsley Zirk; three sisters, Marie Yancey, Janet DesLauriers, and Eleanor Zirk; half-sister, Colleen Wheeler, and half-brother, S.E. Zirk.
She is survived by two daughters, Nellie Hull VanSice and her husband, Jay of Williamsburg, and Peggy Hull Houff of Williamsburg; a half-brother, Richard Zirk of Palm Harbor, Florida and sister-in-law, Velda Zirk of Fishersville; five grandchildren, Mary West Hartley and husband, Michael of Bloomington, Minnesota, Anne West of Kyle, Texas, Amy West of Austin, Texas, Sarah West of Houston, Texas and Stephanie Houff Martin and husband, Jeffery of Williamsburg; five great grandchildren, James Hartley and Hannah Hartley of Bloomington, Minnesota, Savannah Martin and Scarlett Martin of Williamsburg and Levi West of Austin, Texas.
Following cremation, a service will be conducted at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM by Rev. Dr. Rosalind Banbury and Rev. Merle Fisher.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 30 Tinkling Spring Drive, Fishersville, Virginia, 22939.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Spring Arbor of Williamsburg and to Hospice Community Care, Newport News for taking such wonderful care of Doris in the last weeks of her life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
