Marvin was born on October 24, 1932 and passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Marvin was a resident of Edenton, North Carolina at the time of passing.

A leader in his profession, he was a graduate of the first class of Eye Enucleation at Duke University, past president of the Northeastern Funeral Director Association and former board member of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association.

He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was born in Wake County, NC on October 24, 1932 to the late Cleveland Reuben Barham and Zelma Height Barham and was the husband of Mary Ann Norwood Barham of the residence. Ever conscious of his community and its needs, he served as Chowan County Coroner, was a member and Past President of the Edenton Lions Club, a member of Masonic Lodge #7 AF & AM for forty-nine years, member and past president of Chowan County Shrine Club and the Edenton Scottish Rite, Past Patron of OES Edenton Chapter #302, a member of the Elizabeth City OES Chapter# 44, and a former board member of Southern Bank. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Edenton Baptist Church with the Rev. David Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Edenton Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
