Mary Jane Sager, 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Hampton for 65 years.

From 1943-1952 she was employed with the Duplan Silk Company in Hazleton, PA and in the 1950's she was secretarial staff at the Newport News Shipyard.

Mary Jane is a member of First United Methodist Church of Hampton. She was former Vice-President of the Hampton Roads Women's Bowling Association and coached junior bowlers for over 20 years. Mary Jane had a passion for swimming in her younger years and was an avid card player. She especially enjoyed time with her family and friends.

Mary Jane was preceded in rest by her husband who she married on January 12, 1953, Harry G. Sager; father, Clifton O. Arthur; mother, Edna Hughes Arthur; and step-mother, Mary Spaide Arthur. She is survived by her son, H. Guy Sager, Jr. and his wife, Debbie (Boyer) Sager; two step-daughters, Jack Elizabeth (Sager) Mager and husband, Dennis, and Mary Louise (Sager) Forester; two grandchildren, Matthew G. Sager and Christopher R. Sager; two sisters, Joan Arthur Horn and husband, Bill, and Ruth Arthur Williams and husband, Joe; multiple nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Mary Jane's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
