Richard "Jack" Stonebraker was born on September 17, 1938 in East Enterprise, IN, the son of Louise Stonebraker. Jack attended Aurora High School, Indiana University, and the University of Cincinnati graduating with a degree in microbiology. He worked for the water division of the Environmental Protection Agency for 30 years. After retiring from the EPA he was a consultant for Action Environmental. He is a veteran of the US Navy. He passed away on March 14, 2017 in Virginia Beach, VA. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Joyce (Wittrock) Stonebraker; and three daughters, Amy (Keith) Dixon of Columbus, IN, Jill Ratkovich of Virginia Beach, VA, Leah (Tim) Dawkins of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren Ryan (Shannon) Dixon of Dunwoody, GA, Alicia (Kyle) Murphy of Noblesville, IN, Erin and Ethan Willis of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Kohl Ratkovich of Virginia Beach, VA; three great grandsons, Jacob and Caleb Dixon, and Aidan Murphy; two sisters Caroline Scott and Vicky Coy. He was preceded in death by his mother. Jack was an avid golfer, loved telling stories and jokes, travelling the world, and watching sports. He loved spending time with his family and delighted in their successes. Visitation will be at 10-11 am followed by funeral services at 11 am on Saturday, March 18 2017 at the Greendale First Baptist Church, 45 Tebbs Avenue Greendale, IN. Burial will follow at Greendale Cemetery. Flowers can be delivered directly to the church.
