Robert (Bob) Truman Jackson, III., age 79, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born May 13, 1938 in Brownsville, Texas, he was the son of the late Robert T. Jackson, Jr. and Cora K. Jackson.
After graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1960, Bob served for 3 years as a Lieutenant J.G. in the United States Navy. In 1963, he joined Union Carbide Corporation where he worked in various management and executive positions until his retirement in 2001.
Bob will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, friends and faith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Myrtle Herman Jackson; son, Tom (Lynice) and their children, Will, Caroline, Zach and Kade, of Savannah, GA; and son, Ron and his children, Blake and Brett, of Keller, TX.
He was an incredibly kind and thoughtful man that was an inspiration to all that knew him.
A visitation will be held from 6p.m. to 8p.m. on Thursday, July 13 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A service and burial will be held on Thursday, July 20 in Keller, TX.
