Col. Black passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Col. Black was a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia at the time of passing.

Prior to attending Tuskegee University, he served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

He served in the United States Army where he received the Purple Heart, three Bronze Stars for combat service, Army Accommodation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and a host of other war accommodations as a decorated combat veteran.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Services will be set for a future date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DAV or VFW.
